    Interesting approach. Perhaps our company, Tigerbow (http://tigerbow.com), can be considered the "reverse" approach in that we turn existing email addresses (and social media profiles and other virtual addresses) into proxies for physical addresses - ultimately allowing people to send physical goods (e.g., those from online retailers) to email and other virtual addresses.
